Mathilde Høj is a young woman from Egtved, Denmark struggling with mental health.

Despite the system's efforts to help her, she often feels overlooked and reduced to diagnoses and numbers. Throughout her life, she has fought to be seen as a whole person, not just as a patient, and she wishes to find her place in the world. Sometimes though, she feels others might be better off without her - as if others have better use for the air that she breathes.

Accompanied by journalist Lasse Momme, we have followed her through more than a year, witnessing her battles and hopes intertwined. Her story, a testament to resilience and vulnerability, was published in three articles in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
